Anne Margolis received her B.S.N. in Nursing at the University of Pennsylvania, her degree in Nurse-Midwifery from the Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing, and her Master's in Nursing at Case Western Reserve University.
Anne is a doula and a childbirth educator, and incorporates the art of labor support and teaching into her midwifery practice.
Anne has extensive training and clinical experience in women’s health and maternity care, in both in-hospital and out-of-hospital settings, using an integrative approach—one that combines the best of modern medicine with natural, holistic modalities.
Anne is passionately devoted to her homebirth practice, which reflects a more sensitive, personal, humanistic and family centered approach to maternity care, and her confidence in a healthy woman's innate ability to give birth normally and naturally.

Nancy is certified as a birth doula through DONA International, and has been attending births since 2002. Nancy's continuing education includes workshops on helping babies get into the best position for birth; working with sexual abuse survivors during labor and birth; neonatal and adult CPR; and assisting families with bereavement during a birth where they know the baby will not survive. Nancy attended the Midwifery Home Birth Assistant course in Summertown, TN, at Ina May Gaskin's Farm, and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as a labor support doula to her role of assisting in the office and at births.
Nancy is also a certified childbirth educator and offers holistic childbirth group classes in her home or private classes in your home. Her classes focus on preparing both mom and her partner for a natural, empowering and joyful labor and delivery, and helping childbearing families learn their options and make informed decisions about their care.
Nancy was the former co-president of the Hudson Valley Birth Network, and currently acts as the secretary. This network is a group of childbirth professionals, including doulas, midwives, childbirth educators, and lactation consultants. They are there to help pregnant couples know of all of the choices they have when it comes to their pregnancy and birth and believe in freedom of choice through knowledge of alternatives.
She is also a volunteer of Operation Special Delivery, which is a private organization consisting of more than 300 doulas, who donate their services during wartime to women who are giving birth while their partners are on military deployment. Nancy has also volunteered at a local crisis pregnancy center, helping pregnant women and new moms find the support and resources they individually needed.
Nancy’s philosophy towards birth is that birth is a beautiful, sacred life changing event. She believes every mother should have choices for every part of her pregnancy and birth process and be supported regardless of what her final decisions might be. Nancy is there to support everyone at the birth, not to impose and take over, and remember that it is an honor to be invited to each birth. “The births of my children, were life-changing events. I was amazed at what my body was capable of doing, and knew I wanted to share that feeling with other women in the world. Because of that, I find myself on this path that might one day lead me to becoming a midwife myself. For now, I am thrilled and honored to be able to attend home births, and assist other women slip into the transformative role of motherhood.”
Nancy assists at births as well as helps out in the office. You can hire her separately if interested in her childbirth classes and/or doula services.

CD (DONA) - CCE

Gail Cirone is the mother of three grown children, all born at home. She has been involved with helping childbearing families since 1975 beginning with friends and family. Gail's first Childbirth certification came through the Bradley Method of Childbirth in 1991. That year she also completed a training with Penny Simpkin as a birth doula through DONA. In 1995 she began attending home births regularly as a birth assistant. In 2000, she mentored with Pam England and began her work with Birthing From Within. She was also certified in neonatal CPR, as well as in movement therapy with Spacial Dynamics. Gail is one of the founders of BirthNet, a resource network of independent birth professionals for Northern New Jersey and lower New York state, comprised of birth and postpartum doulas, childbirth educators, health care professionals and those supportive of family centered birth and parenting.
Gail trusts in the natural process of pregnancy and birth and is awed by the mystery, joy, challenges, and spiritual growth, involved in each unique experience. She believes nurturing begins before birth with supportive childbirth classes and continues through the postpartum period. She uses an eclectic approach in her childbirth preparation classes, working with individuals and couples as they explore the journey of pregnancy, birth and raising healthy children. Some of the topics she covers include nutrition awareness, pain coping techniques, birth art, breath awareness, stages of labor, labor and birth positions, breastfeeding tips, postpartum and baby care.
As a postpartum doula, she is passionate about woman supporting woman during the transformative journey of pregnancy to motherhood. Gail's knowledge and experience provides encouragement as she listens to tender times and birth stories, assists with breastfeeding, aids mom in understanding the language of her crying baby, and creates the space for mom and baby to bond with each other. This allows confidence and ease to develop, as she enters her new role of mothering.
Gail assists part time with our homebirths, using her vast wisdom, experience, holistic expertise, and warm labor support. If she is assigned to assist at your birth, you can meet her during a prenatal office or home visit. We offer a complimentary 2 to 3 hours postpartum doula visit to each mom in the lower Hudson Valley region within the first few weeks after birth. For those who want to attend her childbirth classes, or continue with her childbirth and/or postpartum doula services, they are welcome to hire her independently.
